RichAfrica Consultancy, founder and convenor of the Namibia International Energy Conference (NIEC), has officially launched the third edition of the Future Energy Leaders Legacy Initiative (FELLI) 2026, a programme aimed at equipping young Namibians with direct exposure to the country’s fast-growing energy sector.
The 2026 edition will select 12 young Namibians to receive complimentary access to NIEC 2026, scheduled to take place from 14–16 April 2026 in Windhoek.
The initiative is designed as a structured leadership and industry access platform, connecting emerging professionals with decision-makers across oil, gas and broader energy infrastructure development.
Since its inception, the programme has delivered tangible outcomes, with several past participants securing employment opportunities within Namibia’s emerging oil and gas industry.
Organisers say the initiative helps bridge access gaps between young professionals and industry leadership at a time when the country is preparing for its first oil and expanding its energy infrastructure.
Founder and Convenor of NIEC, Ndapwilapo Selma Shimutwikeni, said partnerships with industry players are central to strengthening local capacity.
“We value partners such as Subsea7, whose commitment to skills development and local capacity building demonstrates the important role the business community plays in shaping a sustainable energy future.
Through the Future Energy Leaders Legacy Initiative, we are intentionally creating pathways for young Namibians to engage, contribute, and position themselves within a rapidly evolving sector,” she said.
Subsea7, a global offshore energy engineering and project delivery company, supports the 2026 edition. Organisers say the partnership reflects a shared commitment to developing Namibian talent and strengthening in-country participation in the energy value chain.
Selected participants will receive full access to the conference, exposure to local and international energy leaders, structured networking sessions, and entry into high-level discussions shaping Namibia’s energy future. The initiative also aims to enhance participants’ professional positioning within the rapidly evolving energy ecosystem, as organisers describe it.
Applications are open to Namibian students, recent graduates and young professionals aged 18 to 35, particularly those studying or working in energy, engineering, geosciences, environmental sciences, law, finance or related fields.
Organisers are seeking motivated candidates interested in leadership development and industry engagement.
