Cleanergy Solutions Namibia has received the first piece of hydrogen equipment – a 40-bar low-pressure buffer tank.
The company, a joint venture between Ohlthaver & List (O&L) and CMB.TECH, is developing the green hydrogen production plant located at Walvis Bay.
The equipment will play a key role in ensuring seamless operations between the electrolyser and compressors, marking a significant step forward in our pursuit of sustainable hydrogen production.
The project includes a 10-hectare solar park with a hydrogen production facility equipped with a 5-megawatt Proton Exchange Membrane electrolyser and a 5-megawatt hour battery.
Cleanergy Solutions Namibia started the bricklaying process of Africa’s first public green hydrogen refuelling station on 23 September 2023.
The company wants the hydrogen refuelling station to be fully operational by mid-2024.
The facility will supply hydrogen to trucks, port equipment, and railway applications.
The hydrogen production plant established in Walvis Bay, Namibia, uses solar energy for hydrogen production onsite.
Cleanergy Solutions Namibia will also establish a Hydrogen Academy to educate and train local individuals on hydrogen technology and its wide-ranging applications.
