Hope and Gorob Mining (Pty) Ltd has opened recruitment for a suite of senior technical and operational roles as it moves the Hope Mining Project in the Erongo Region towards development.

The company is advertising positions for a mine manager, mining geologist, geological technician, grade control officer, SHEQ officer and procurement officer, with applications closing on 31 January 2026.

The vacancies point to early-stage mine build-up activities, as the project transitions from studies and permitting into preparation for construction and future operations.

The recruitment drive reflects a shift from desk-based technical work to on-the-ground readiness. Roles linked to geology and grade control underscore the technical demands of the orebody.

At the same time, SHEQ and procurement positions emphasise regulatory compliance, safety systems, and supply-chain planning before physical development. Applications are being processed through the Tara Nawa online recruitment portal, with the company indicating that only submissions made via the system will be evaluated.

Hope and Gorob Mining is the Namibian subsidiary of UK-listed Bezant Resources Plc, which controls the Hope and Gorob copper-gold project. Bezant has been advancing the asset for several years through systematic exploration, drilling and technical evaluation, positioning it as a potential new base-metal development in central Namibia.

The project is not an established mine but a pre-production asset that is still progressing through the necessary regulatory and development milestones.

The Hope and Gorob project is located within the Matchless Amphibolite Belt of the Damara Orogen, a geological zone known for copper-bearing mineral systems.

Mineralisation at the project is copper-dominant, with gold and silver occurring as associated credits. Exploration and study work completed to date has focused on defining mineral resources, assessing mining methods and reviewing potential processing and logistics options, including access to regional infrastructure in the Erongo Region.

Environmental approvals, mining licence processes and detailed development planning remain part of the project pipeline.

The current recruitment round suggests the company is building internal capacity in anticipation of moving beyond feasibility-level work into execution planning.

The advertised positions represent early employment opportunities linked to a new copper-gold project that is edging closer to development, rather than the expansion of an existing operation.

Background

Bezant Resources Plc is an AIM-listed copper-gold exploration and development company with a portfolio spanning Namibia and other mineral jurisdictions.

The company’s stated strategy is to advance copper-dominant assets through exploration and development toward production, with a focus on projects that can be brought on stream using existing infrastructure to reduce capital intensity.

In Namibia, Bezant’s flagship asset is the Hope & Gorob copper-gold project, held through its Namibian subsidiary Hope and Gorob Mining (Pty) Ltd.

The project lies within the Matchless Copper Belt in the Erongo Region and covers multiple licences, including Mining Licence 246 and surrounding Exclusive Prospecting Licences.

Collectively, these licences host several mineralised zones, including Hope, Gorob, and adjacent prospects, which have been defined through drilling and resource-estimation work.

According to Bezant’s disclosures, the project hosts a JORC-compliant mineral resource of approximately 15 million tonnes grading about 1.2 per cent copper, with gold credits.

Geological studies indicate the mineralisation is typical of volcanogenic massive sulphide-style systems, which are known for copper-rich orebodies within the Damara Orogen.

As part of its development strategy, Bezant has also moved to secure access to existing processing infrastructure by pursuing the acquisition of a majority stake in Namib Lead and Zinc Mining, which owns a flotation plant near Swakopmund.

The intention is to adapt this facility to process copper-gold material from Hope & Gorob, potentially shortening the timeline to production and reducing upfront capital requirements.

The Hope & Gorob project remains in the development phase, with feasibility work, permitting, and financing activities ongoing.

The current recruitment drive by Hope and Gorob Mining reflects preparations for the next stage of project execution, rather than the restart of an operating mine.
