Madison Metals has started the maiden 2024 drill program at the Khan Project at the Madison West in Erongo region.
The Khan Project comprises mining licence 86A and exclusive prospecting licence 8905.
Madison acquired the project in April 2023 for US$ 125,000.
In a statement Wednesday, Madison said the drilling would focus on the areas outlined in its April 18, 2024, news release.
The company announced on April 18, 2024 that it had carried out a geological mapping at the Khan Project ahead of the drilling program.
The mapping program consisted of infill geological mapping, ground scintillometer, and spectrometer surveys over the previously announced Anomaly 5 drill targets.
The original surveying was completed at 40 metres (m) line spacing with 10 m station spacing.
Madison Metals also said it had added new drill targets at Anomaly 5 by surveying at 20 m line spacing.
The recent mapping and surveying program results showed an increased surface expression of radiometric D-type leucogranites, a favourable rock type mined at Rossing.
Madison West project also has mining licences 121 and EPL 8115.
The company identified high-grade uranium mineralisation at Anomaly 5 in licence 86A, part of the Khan Project.
A surface sample revealed 8.47% U3O8, showcasing significant potential.
Madison North encompasses EPL 8531 and 7011, strategically positioned adjacent to the world-renowned Rössing Uranium Mine.
An Inferred Mineral Resource Estimate reveals 15.6 million tonnes at 260 ppm U3O8, amounting to 9.0 million pounds of contained U3O8.
The company said that once thoroughly analysed, it will publish the results as necessary.
