Prospect Resources expects results from the phase 2 drilling at its Omaruru Lithium Project to be available soon.

The Omaruru Lithium Project, comprising EPL 5533, covers 132 square kilometres around the Wilhelmstal village, east of Karibib in Namibia.

The tenement is located near several advanced mining projects, including Osino Resources’ Twin Hills Gold Project (recently acquired by Yantai Gold) and Lepidico’s Karibib Lithium Project.

Prospect Resources became the 100% owner of the Omaruru project in March 2024 after acquiring the remaining 60% stake from Osino Resources’ subsidiary, Richwing Exploration.

The drilling program started in January 2024, targeting prospective geochemical anomalies at Karlsbrunn SE, Karlsbrunn NE, and Bergers Central.

The initial Phase 2 drilling plan consisted of about 70 rotary air blast (RAB) and reverse circulation (RC) drill holes, each extending for approximately 4,250 metres.

The RAB drilling programme tested the full extent of the anomalous soil geochemistry, mapped the surface, and inferred the subsurface extents of the lithium-caesium-tantalum (LCT) pegmatite deposits.

The program also targeted the root zone feeder system identified on the southeast flank of Karlsbrunn Main, which previously returned 35m @ 0.85% Li2O from the surface in August 2023.

Prospect Resources says the results will define key lithium-mineralised pegmatites’ geometry, depth, and strike extent.

Additionally, the results will inform the generation of a more detailed and profound RC drilling programme targeted at a potential JORC-reportable lithium mineral resource estimate during 2024.

Prospect Resources’ exploratory soil geochemical sample survey programmes completed in 2023 have outlined coherent anomalies of LCT pathfinder elements that, after drilling, have outlined highly encouraging intersections of lithium (e.g., >1% Li2O at Bergers) within concealed, ‘blind’ pegmatites.

According to Prospect Resources, Omaruru offers excellent potential for Prospect to delineate a maiden JORC-reportable lithium mineral resource and identify new deposits.

The tenement contains 60 visible outcropping LCT pegmatites, with historical artisanal workings for gemstones common throughout the tenement and considerable prospectivity for identifying further lithium-enriched deposits occurring below cover in the region.
