Snow Lake Energy has completed planning for its 2024 exploration program on the Engo Valley Uranium Project, with exploration work scheduled to commence shortly.
The Engo Valley Uranium Project is on the Skeleton Coast, in the Opuwo District of the Kunene Region, along the coast of northwest Namibia, approximately 600 kilometres north of Swakopmund.
The project, under EPL 5887 and covering 69.530ha, is held by Namibia Minerals and Investment Holding (Pty) Ltd.
Snow Lake and a private British Columbia company entered into a binding letter of intent in February 2024 to acquire up to 85% of Namibia Minerals and Investment Holding.
The first phase of the exploration program includes an analysis of all airborne survey data flown by the Namibian government over the project area, including a radon cup survey of all historical targets and several new targets.
The Company wants to verify the historical airborne survey data and to confirm the drill target topographical survey of the project site, an initial 1.000–metre reverse circulation drill program to twin the historical drill holes, and to begin an in-fill grid pattern between the historical drill holes.
Additionally, Snow Lake will initiate the ground geophysics program, designed to confirm the historic airborne survey data, confirm historic ground geophysics data, guide our planned drill program, and identify new target areas for follow-up this April.
With the results of the first-phase program, Snow Lake will design a follow-up reverse circulation drilling program to continue in-fill drilling and test new targets identified during the program’s first phase.
The follow-up program will commence immediately after receiving the program’s first phase results.
Uranium mineralization was discovered on the project in 1973. Exploration was conducted intermittently by Gencor between 1974 and 1980, and based on that work, Gencor calculated a historical, non-current mining code compliant resource estimate for the project.
Snow Lake CEO Frank Wheatley confirmed that they completed designing the 2024 exploration program on the Engo Valley Uranium Project.
