Cazaly Resources is preparing to fly the first high-resolution airborne magnetic survey over the Cadix target at its Abenab North Copper-Rare Earth Elements Project in northern Namibia, marking the next step towards drilling what the company considers the largest and most prospective undrilled target on the project.
The drone-based aeromagnetic survey, scheduled for August, will focus on the Cadix anomaly, an approximately 800-metre-diameter magnetic feature identified through the reprocessing of historical geophysical data.
According to the company, the target is substantially larger than any of the magnetic anomalies previously tested elsewhere on the licence, yet has never been drill-tested.
The survey will comprise approximately 196 line kilometres across three priority areas, with data collected on 50-metre line spacing at a flying height of around 30 metres above ground level.
Cazaly said the low-altitude, closely spaced survey will produce a much higher-resolution magnetic image than historical airborne surveys, allowing geologists to better define the anomaly’s geometry, margins and internal structure before selecting the orientation and position of maiden drill holes.
Rather than drilling immediately, the company is seeking to improve geological confidence and maximise the effectiveness of its first drilling campaign by refining the target using modern geophysical techniques.
The Cadix target lies within the 790 km² Abenab North Project in Namibia’s Otavi Fold Belt, about 20 kilometres east of the historic Tsumeb Copper Mine, one of the world’s best-known polymetallic deposits.
The project is considered prospective for copper, rare earth elements, vanadium and other base metals, with multiple carbonatite intrusions identified across the licence area.
Previous exploration by Kudu Minerals and Avonlea Minerals confirmed rare earth mineralisation in neighbouring carbonatite bodies, returning intersections including 45 metres grading 0.73% total rare earth oxides, including four metres at 2.53% TREO, while other holes intersected 16.7 metres at 0.66% TREO and 39.7 metres at 0.55% TREO.
However, those programmes focused on smaller magnetic anomalies and did not test the much larger Cadix feature.
Cazaly believes the size of the Cadix anomaly, combined with confirmed rare earth mineralisation from nearby carbonatite systems, makes it the highest-priority exploration target within the project.
The forthcoming survey is expected to provide the detailed geophysical information needed to design the company’s maiden drilling programme.
The Namibia programme formed one of the key milestones reported in Cazaly’s June 2026 quarterly activities report.
While the company’s principal exploration expenditure remains focused on its Goongarrie Gold Project in Western Australia, management said advancing the Abenab North Project represents an important part of its strategy to evaluate the rare earth and copper potential of one of Namibia’s most prospective yet underexplored carbonatite systems.
The company ended the June quarter with cash and investments of approximately A$4.5 million, providing funding for the planned airborne survey and follow-up exploration activities.
