Navachab Gold Mine’s senior management has briefed Erongo Governor Natalia /Goagoses on the company’s expansion programme and its ongoing corporate social responsibility (CSR) projects for the 2025/26 financial year.
Led by Managing Director George Botshiwe, the delegation included Elias Kahuva, Human Resources Director; Theophelus Kagogo, Chief Operating Officer; and Mclyn Kasale, Senior Public Relations and Communications Officer.
The meeting highlighted Navachab’s continued role as one of the region’s key economic drivers.
Botshiwe said the mine’s expansion plan is designed to increase production capacity, optimise operations, and extend the life of mine beyond its current forecast.
The programme will create new employment and business opportunities in the Erongo Region, strengthening local supply chains and supporting regional economic growth.
Governor /Goagoses commended Navachab’s proactive engagement, noting that collaboration between the private sector and government is essential for sustainable development.
She said the mine’s work aligns with Namibia’s Sixth National Development Plan (NDP6), which promotes industrial diversification and regional value creation.
The Navachab team also shared updates on its CSR initiatives focusing on infrastructure, education and training, health, entrepreneurship, safety, and community upliftment.
These projects have improved schools, clinics, and youth training opportunities across several towns in Erongo.
Botshiwe reaffirmed the mine’s commitment to responsible mining and community partnership, saying Navachab’s growth must translate into lasting benefits for Namibians.
Governor /Goagoses encouraged the company to deepen collaboration with local authorities and youth groups to ensure inclusivity.
As Navachab enters its 2025/26 expansion phase, its balance between growth and social development positions it as a cornerstone of Namibia’s mining and regional economy.
