Rössing Uranium has spent N$4.37 billion on local purchases in 2024, compared to N$2.5 billion in 2023.
The company’s sustainability report, released this week, indicates that Rössing Uranium spent N$61,6 million on community development in 2024.
This is higher than the N$41,1 million the company spent in 2023.
Rössing Uranium managing director Johan Coetzee said this includes N$38 million for the Rössing Foundation and N$23 million for community initiatives.
However, the report says Rössing Uranium’s revenue fell by 9% to N$5,93 billion, while net profit after tax dipped from N$1,34 billion in 2023 to N$1,03 billion in 2024.
This occurred while operational cash flow was N$739 million, and cash and cash equivalents totalled N$2.23 billion.
Rössing Uranium’s capital investment stood at N$1.1 billion, total assets were N$10.1 billion, and equity growth was N$5.83 billion.
The 2024 oxide production dropped to 2,600 metric tonnes from 2,920 in 2023, with 57 million pounds of U3O8 produced, out of which 5,5 million pounds were sold.
Rössing Uranium exported 2,9 million pounds to China and another 2,6 million pounds to other customers.
Mine ministry deputy minister Gaudentia Kröhne said uranium contributed 26,3% to total export earnings in February 2025.
Rössing Uranium had 871 workers at the end of 2024, 98.7% of whom were Namibian.
