The inaugural Erongo Offshore Safety Conference starts on May 1 and ends on May 2, 2025, at the Dome in Swakopmund.
The conference, under the theme Advancing Operational Safety in Namibia’s Offshore Oil & Gas, seeks to build a strong, safety-first foundation as Namibia enters a new energy era.
The Namibia Association for Offshore and Gas Service Providers are the conference organisers.
Det Norske Veritas (DNV) is the technical partner, and The Association of Service Providers of the Angolan Oil Gas Industry (AECIPA) is the strategic partner.
Bronze sponsors are Industria Comercio a Sevice LDA and Master Riggers.
Associate sponsors are H.S.E Masters, Old Mutual, Sistran, Tradinter, Selex Engineering and Construction, Master Riggers and Crescent Energy Solutions.
The inaugural theme speaks that offshore operational safety is not merely a technical concern but a multidimensional imperative that safeguards human lives, protects the environment, ensures regulatory compliance, and preserves investor confidence in the energy sector.
The conference establishes a national platform that encourages a safety culture for offshore operations in
Namibia.
It also seeks to enable effective engagement between multiple stakeholders, advancing offshore safety
standards in Namibia.
Additionally, the conference ensures the adoption of advanced offshore safety legislation, policies, technologies, and practices for safeguarding Namibia’s oil & gas industry.
The multiple stakeholders participating in the conference include regulators, international oil companies, oilfield service providers, safety and maritime experts, legal and policy advisors, training institutions and universities, and local communities and organisations involved in the local and global value chains of the oil & gas industry.
