Aldoro Resources will start the maiden 2,000-metre diamond drilling at the Kameelburg REE Niobium project within the next two weeks.
Both the Nock 300 and Nock 600 drilling rigs have arrived at the site and have been commissioned.
The rigs have crawler flexibility, and track construction to drill pads is 70% complete.
Aldoro Resources has also completed the initial trench sampling program, comprising seven trenches over the Kameelburg carbonatite, with samples dispatched for expedited assay.
To enhance the understanding of the conformity of the carbonatite before drilling, the company has expanded the trenching program with an additional 15 trenches to be sampled, ranging in length from 75 meters to 250 meters.
The trenching program aims to evaluate the geochemical anomalies and provide more reliable information for our forthcoming drilling program.
The expanded trenching program is expected to be completed within the next week.
The Kameelburg Project is in Namibia, Southwest Africa, north of the capital Windhoek in the Damara Orogenic Belt, host to numerous carbonatites. Aldoro’s focus is rare earth metals and Niobium hosted in carbonatites. The project is a joint venture with a local businessman, with Aldoro holding 85% equity in the partnership.
Three Exploration Prospecting Licences (EPLs) covering 1,017 km2 comprise the project area and contain the Kameelburg (AKA Ondurakorume) carbonatite system. Kameelburg rises 276 metre above the peneplain and forms a plug-like feature 1.4 km in diameter rimmed by ring dykes intruding the local syenite host.
