Great Quest Gold has started soil sampling at the Omatjete project in the Erongo region, where more than 4,000 samples have been collected to date.

The company has also started analysing the samples using the on-site PXRF lab, while a drone-based magnetic survey focusing on structural targets is underway.

The Omatjete Project is a greenfield exploration project in the North Central Zone of the Damara Belt.
The project spans about 80,000 ha and encompasses three exclusive prospecting licenses: 8676, 9450, and 8790.

The North Central Zone of the Damara Belt has recently seen promising gold and lithium discoveries, all within the uppermost stratigraphy of the Swakop Group sediments. WIA Gold’s Kokoseb gold deposit, with a current resource of ~2.1 Moz, has highlighted the greenfield potential of this part of the Damara belt.

The project area hosts geological features similar to those of the Kokoseb project. Regional mapping and analysis have identified favourable stratigraphy and potential trap sites within the project’s boundaries.

Meanwhile, Great Quest Gold has completed 1,543-line kilometres of drone magnetic survey at the Belmont prospect in Khorixas and 2,515 surface samples for analysis.

The company intersected 18 metres of 1.72 g/t Au from 74 metres, including 8 metres of 3.72 g/t Au, on September 30, 2024, at the Belmont prospect.

Great Quest Gold president and chief exploration officer Dr. Andreas Rompel said the presence of indicator elements, shear zones, their strike length, and magnetic anomalies allows the company to generate multiple targets and great optimism for the following stages of exploration.

Great Quest Gold executive chairperson Jed Richardson said Namibia is emerging as a new, highly prospective gold province.

“Of our three focus projects, Omatjete is most similar to the known gold deposits of Namibia: the long-lived Navachab gold mine of AngloGold, the successful Otjikoto gold mine of B2Gold, and the recently sold Twin Hills project of Osino Gold,” Richardson said.

Great Quest Gold acquired a 25% ownership interest in Belmont Mineral Exploration in July 2024.
Belmont Mineral Exploration holds 14 exclusive prospecting licenses covering 307,778 ha, directly or through option agreements.

The exclusive prospecting licenses include the Khorixas Gold Project, the Omatjete Gold and Lithium Project, and the Outjo Gold Project.

Great Quest Gold agreed to fund the Namibian dollar equivalent of US$1.4 million for project exploration expenditures within 24 months of the transaction’s closing.
