Thirteen ministerial delegations and trade missions are in Windhoek for the inaugural Global African Hydrogen Summit.
The delegations that arrived are from Algeria, Angola, Belgium, Burundi, Congo, Egypt, the EU, Germany, Kenya, Nigeria, South Africa, Tanzania, and Uganda.

The summit will feature a world-class strategic conference with over 126 expert industry speakers from Namibia, Africa, and around the globe.
Green industrialisation private and public sector changemakers confirmed to participate include Namport CEO Andrew Kanime, Siemens sub-Saharan Africa CEO Sabine Dall’Omo, GreenGo Energy CEO Karsten Nielsen, Hyphen Hydrogen Energy CEO Marco Raffinetti, Enable CEO Jean Van Wetter, Neuma & Esser German CEO Jens Wulff, CMB.TECH chief technology officer Roy Campe, NamPower managing director Simson Haulofu, Nel Hydrogen chief commercial officer Todd Cartwright, and Industrial Development Corporation chief operations officer Joanne Bate.
The International Exhibition will host five country pavilions, including Belgium, the EU, Germany, the Netherlands, and Namibia, showcasing industry leaders, including BESIX, Fluxys, HDF Energy, Hyphen Hydrogen Energy, Nel Hydrogen, Siemens, ThyssenKrupp, and Vopak.
The International Exhibition will also spotlight an Innovation Zone, featuring a duel-streamed technical seminar and a dedicated Youth Programme agenda.
Additionally, the summit will host the privately conducted Project Investment Roundtables, where more than 30 bankable green energy projects from across Africa will be presented to investors, aiming to fast-track their progress toward financial closure.
Its strategic partner, the Namibia Investment Promotion and Development Board (NIPDB), supports the summit.
The official partners are Fortescue, GreenGo Energy, GIZ, Hyphen Hydrogen Energy, Cleanergy Solutions Namibia, the International Development Corporation of South Africa (IDC), Neway Valve, RMB, Air Products, ENS Africa, KSB, NamH2 Fund Managers, Neuman & Esser, and Zhero.
Key supporting partners include the Namibia Green Hydrogen Programme, African Hydrogen Practice, Itasca, the Environmental Investment Fund of Namibia, the Namibia Green Hydrogen Programme, the Namibia Youth Energy Forum, Ninety-One, and the Women in Green Hydrogen.
Vasco da Gama and dmg events are partnering with the Namibia Investment Promotion Development Board to organise the three-day summit, which started with masterclasses on Tuesday.
The Global African Hydrogen Summit will serve as a critical platform that will focus on the role Africa expects to play in the global hydrogen sector.
The summit will also facilitate collaboration, foster partnerships between African nations and international stakeholders, and advance dialogue across policy, investment, and the emerging hydrogen value chain.
Namibia’s vice president, Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, will lead the official Summit opening ceremony.
