The Hope & Gorob environmental clearance certificate for Licence EPL 7170 has been renewed for two years until 12 August 2027.

The licence was renewed for two years from the previous expiry to 22nd October 2025, subject to the granting of the ECC.

With the certificate granting, Bezant Resources can now continue exploring this crucial extension to the pending Hope & Gorob Mining Licence and EPL 5796 exploration licence, for which renewal is also in process.

Licence EPL 7170 offers approximately 30km of prospective Matchless Belt geology that has delivered 15Mt of JORC (2012) compliant Mineral Resources within the pending Hope & Gorob mining licence.

Bezant Resources will provide information on future exploration results on EPL 7170 as work progresses to increase the Hope & Gorob global copper-gold resource.

The company’s chairperson, Colin Bird, said the exploration licence is north-east of the main Hope & Gorob licence, with comparable geology within the Matchless Copperbelt.

“We have previously undertaken airborne geophysics over the licence and identified potentially significant anomalies for follow-up,” Bird said.

He added that the licence forms an almost contiguous belt of prospective ground with Hope and Gorob.

“It could host either an extension to that mineralisation or a separate resource to support a more extensive mining operation,” Bird said.
