Forsys Metals will conduct the first blast at the Valencia project on August 1.
The Valencia project on farm Valencia 122, about 75km northeast of Swakopmund, is part of the Norasa project.
Forsys Metals subsidiary Valencia Uranium has the rights to the Norasa project under licence 149.
The licence was converted from EPL 1496 on June 23, 2008, and is valid for 25 years.
In May 2024, Forsys Metals country director Pine van Wyk said the comprehensive work done over the last 12 months on the Norasa Uranium Project has created a solid foundation to advance project development.
Forsys Metals announced in February that it would complete a broad-ranging initiative to reassess its 2015 feasibility study for the Norasa Project in mid-2024.
Since then, the company has drilled 4,332 metres in 32 boreholes and received results from 21 boreholes.
The drilling program strategy is to expand and upgrade the Valencia resources adjacent to the central pit and the north and northeast of the pit.
To date, drilling has focused on two zones that have the potential to extend the Valencia Main deposit, at Valencia West and Valencia South, to depths of up to 380 metres below the surface.
In March this year, Forsys Metals started the 2024 drilling program at Valencia to investigate three zones of potential mineralisation outside the existing resource block model.
The drilling program focuses on three target areas: the Jolie Zone (~ 1km north of Valencia pit), Valencia West Extension and Valencia South.
