Mines minister Tom Alweendo bagged the Africa’s Legend award from the Frontier Energy Network.
Namcor is the 2024 African Regulator of the Year/ national oil company winner of the Rhino Award.
The awards are part of the Africa Energies Summit 28 held in London last week.
The Frontier Energy Network organises the annual summit.
Namcor senior geologist Alina Narubes received the award on Alweendo’s behalf.
Eni, which partners with bp in Azure, won the Lion Award for contributing to the African Energy Industry.
Unlucky ones in this category were QatarEnergy, TotalEnergies and Galp.
Impact Oil & Gas received the Leopard Award for Africa’s Independent Player of the Year.
Namcor’s executive for Upstream Exploration, Victoria Sibeya, was also unlucky this time.
Even BW Energies, which is developing the Kudu Gas project, could not win any award.
