Snow Lake Resources Ltd. has initiated the preliminary stages of its 2024 exploration program on the Engo Valley Uranium Project in Namibia.
The Engo Valley Uranium Project is on the Skeleton Coast, in the Opuwo District of the Kunene Region, along the coast of northwest Namibia, approximately 600 kilometres north of Swakopmund.
The Namibia Minerals and Investment Holding (Pty) Ltd. holds the project’s EPL 5887, which covers 69,530 hectares.
The Engo Valley licence covers base and rare metals, industrial minerals, non-nuclear fuel, minerals, nuclear fuel minerals, precious metals and precious stones.
Gecko discovered uranium mineralization on the project in 1973, and exploration work started between 1974 and 1980.
Snow Lake acquired 85% of the Namibia Minerals and Investment Holding in February 2024.
Now, Snow Lake says its program’s initial stages include obtaining, compiling, and digitizing all historical exploration data on the project.
The program will gather all historical exploration data, plans, maps, and reports from Gencor’s exploration program in the 1970s, which consisted of airborne radiometric and radon cup surveys and a combination of reverse circulation and diamond drilling.
It will also include all other historical exploration reports and data on the project area on file with the mines ministry and all airborne survey data flown by the Namibian Government over the project area.
Snow Lake CEO Frank Wheatley says the first step of compiling all of the historical exploration data will greatly assist us in designing subsequent phases of exploration and targeting our initial drill program, which is designed to verify the project’s uranium potential.
