What Selma said at the 2023 international oil and gas conference:

The Namibia International Energy Conference (NIEC) was held in Windhoek on 25 – 27 April 2023 under the theme, ‘Shaping the future of energy towards value creation.’

After months of planning, focus and hard work, RichAfrica Consultancy curated and convened the 5th edition of the Namibia International Energy Conference 2023 (NIEC) under the timely theme of ‘Shaping the Future of Energy Towards Value Creation’.

This home-grown initiative that RichAfrica founded a decade ago has flourished to be a credible thought-leadership platform and the official meeting place for the energy sector in Namibia.

The leading event, which is growing in stature, attracted over 440 delegates from 12 countries and was attended by Ministers/Ministerial representatives from Senegal, Angola, Ghana and Equatorial Guinea.

I am confident that the ideas shared will inspire action and contribute to developing sustainable solutions for the future of Namibia’s energy sector, positively changing lives and contributing towards energy security and value creation for all.

Using creative leadership, the immersive experience and well-curated agenda provided quality insights, shared lessons learned, networked and promoted collaboration in the evolving energy landscape.

I am greatly pleased by the insightful and thought-provoking engagements among all stakeholders. I want to thank the Ministry of Mines and Energy for their patronage and the support of our Strategic Partner, the African Energy Chamber, the Ministerial delegations and the African Petroleum Producers’ Organization.

I am grateful to our sponsors, speakers, delegates and my fantastic dream team for making this conference a resounding success! Over the next few days, I will share the conference’s highlights. I look forward to the 6th edition of the Namibia International Energy Conference 2024, which takes place April 23 – 25, 2024.
