President Hage Geingob will deliver a statement on green energy transition and green hydrogen at the inaugural EU-Namibia Green Hydrogen and Critical Raw Materials Business Forum in Brussels.

The forum set for 25 October 2023 focuses on green hydrogen and sustainable critical raw materials value chains.

The agenda also includes sessions on the clean hydrogen derivatives value chain and strategies for mitigating financial risks in green hydrogen.

The forum will focus on the EU’s Global Gateway strategy and its role in promoting global investment in infrastructure, centred around its priority themes – digital, energy and climate, transport, health and education and research.

Through the Global Gateway launched in December 2021, the EU offers partner countries the opportunity to develop smart, clean and secure digital, energy and transport infrastructure and strengthen health and education systems.

Geingob will also hold bilateral talks with the host, European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, to strengthen the Namibia-EU Partnership on creating solid foundations for the green industrialisation agenda of Namibia.

Additionally, Geingob will also hold meetings with the United Nations deputy secretary General, Amina Mohammed and the European Investment Bank vice president, Thomas Ostros.
