The mines ministry has renewed Forsys Metals’ Namibplaas Exclusive Prospecting License 3638, a crucial part of the ongoing Norasa Uranium Project in the Erongo region.
This marks a significant milestone in the company’s operations.
Forsys Metals says the licence has been renewed for two years until February 2026.
In September 2022, Forsys also applied to convert EPL 3638 to a full 25-year mining licence; this submission is pending.
Forsys Metals country director Pine van Wyk said EPL3638 covers a strategic land position with significant exploration upside.
“We greatly appreciate the Ministry’s continued support as we accelerate the development of the Norasa project and continue to work closely with the ministry to obtain the mining licence,” Van Wyk said.
Forsys Metals’ subsidiary, Valencia Uranium Pty Ltd, owns the Norasa Uranium Project, which comprises the Valencia uranium deposits held under licence 149 and the Namibplaas uranium deposit.
Forsys Metals Corp. is an emerging uranium developer focused on advancing its wholly-owned Norasa Uranium Project, located in the politically friendly jurisdiction of Namibia, Africa.
In addition, Forsys Metals has a 100% interest in Dunefield Mining Company (Pty) Ltd.’s Namibplaas project, which is located 7.5 km northeast of Valencia.
