Members of the European Association of Geoscientists and Engineers (EAGE) Sub-Saharan Africa Energy Forum are meeting in Windhoek.
The meeting, which started yesterday, will end on March 6.
The forum addresses the critical role of geoscience activities in the Sub-Saharan African energy sector.
This forum combines two successful workshop series: the EAGE Eastern Africa Petroleum Geoscience Forum and the Western Africa Exploration & Production Workshop.
The technical program covers petroleum systems, play evaluation, frontier exploration, digitalization, new technology, and data standards.
The participants are drawn from diverse backgrounds, including energy and service companies, academia, and regulators.
The Windhoek meeting discusses the recent accomplishments of key wells, large integrative studies, or application of new technologies and future projects, considering the energy transition.
In addition, this forum welcomes the discussion of above-ground challenges to Sub-Saharan’s untapped petroleum and clean energy resources.
