Namibia continues to deepen collaboration with the EU to enable and catalyse sustainable investments and growth in green hydrogen and critical raw materials, placing Namibia at the forefront of the green transition. Being a resource-rich country, Namibia has the potential to produce green hydrogen for our consumption and potentially for export to the European Union and beyond. Therefore, this forum is primarily anchored in the shared vision of creating linkages and partnerships that will enable Namibia to effectively leverage her resources not only to contribute towards decarbonisation but to do so as an equal participant – Nangula Uaandja on EU-Namibia business relations.
The Namibia Investment Promotion and Development Board has been very instrumental in setting up meetings and selling Namibia’s potential to investors.
The board was present at every conference to discuss the green economy, oil discoveries, and mining.

The NIPDB, the Environmental Investment Fund of Namibia (EIF), DMG events, and Vasco Da Gama Energy will host the first-ever Global African Hydrogen Summit in Windhoek between September 3 and 5, 2024.
Nangula Uaandja heads the NIPDB, and they say she is a perfectionist who does not take chances.
In April 2023, Uaandja said Namibia had secured investments worth about N$161 billion, with the renewable sector accounting for 73%.
A Chartered Accountant by profession, Uaandja served as a Partner at PwC Namibia until December 2020, when President Hage Geingob appointed her as CEO of NIPDB.
With over 20 years of experience in auditing, Uaandja served as a lead partner on audits of organisations across various sectors and industries. She has also been involved in non-audit work such as business advisory services, fraud investigation, presentations on the roles and responsibilities of directors, and a host of other related topics.
Nangula was named Namibia’s Businesswoman of Namibia’s 2011. Besides playing a role in the Accounting/Auditing Professional Bodies, such as the Institute of Chartered Accountants and the Public Accountants and Auditors Board, she also served as a member of the Tax Court Appeal.
She was appointed as a member of the first Public Office Bearers’ Remuneration Committee by the President of the Republic of Namibia from 2006 to 2009.
She was the first black female Namibian to qualify as a Chartered Accountant and the first female and first black Namibian to occupy the position of PwC Managing Partner as well as that of President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Namibia.
Avance Media named Uaandja one of the 100 Most Influential African Women in December 2023.
