Arkle Resources is advancing its Erongo uranium project towards a targeted maiden Mineral Resource Estimate in the first half of 2027 after expanding its main uranium system to about 1.5 kilometres along strike and confirming that the host rocks extend to at least 188 metres below surface.
The company said on Sunday that trenching and surface assays at its primary uraniferous leucogranite (ULG) target on EPL 8995 had defined uranium mineralisation over approximately 1.5 km of strike and up to 600 metres in width.
The latest footprint extends the approximately one-kilometre area reported in June, while the system remains open along strike in both directions.
Arkle previously said successful exploration in 2026 would be followed by detailed infill drilling, with a maiden Mineral Resource Estimate targeted for the first half of 2027.
The latest results further define the ULG target ahead of that planned work, although laboratory assays from the drilling programme are still outstanding.
At a threshold of 200 parts per million (ppm) U₃O₈, the surface results define a mineralised corridor approximately 1,140 metres long and 91 metres wide.
Of the samples analysed, 39 returned more than 100 ppm U₃O₈, while 13 exceeded 200 ppm. The highest surface result was 800 ppm U₃O₈ and the strongest trench result was 358 ppm U₃O₈.
The company has also completed nine reconnaissance reverse-circulation holes totalling 1,154 metres at the ULG target.
Leucogranite was logged over 792 metres, representing 69% of the metres drilled, while three holes remained in leucogranite throughout their entire lengths.
The deepest hole ended in leucogranite at 200 metres downhole, approximately 188 metres below surface.
Arkle said the drilling has so far established the continuation of the leucogranite sheets below surface, but laboratory results are required to determine the uranium grades within those intersections.
No drill assay results have yet been received, and the company said no conclusions about the grade or continuity of uranium mineralisation at depth can be drawn until the laboratory results have been received, validated and reported.
Results from both the ULG and paleochannel targets are expected during September.
Arkle completed a total of 2,712 metres of RC drilling across 87 holes at the ULG, Paleo East and Paleo West targets, compared with approximately 1,500 metres originally planned.
The ULG target accounted for 1,154 metres in nine holes, while 1,390 metres were drilled in 66 holes at Paleo East and 168 metres in 12 holes at Paleo West.
All 87 holes have been surveyed using downhole gamma-ray spectrometry to select intervals for laboratory analysis.
A total of 974 samples have been submitted to Actlabs for multi-element analysis, with preparation undertaken at the laboratory’s Windhoek facility. Results are expected during September.
Arkle said further mapping and sampling are underway, while additional trenching, geophysical work and additional ground are being evaluated.
The company is also preparing a follow-on drilling programme at the ULG target to expand its understanding of the mineralisation ahead of the next phase of exploration.
