Serval Resources has appointed experienced Namibian mining executive Riaan Kazondunge as its country manager, strengthening the company’s leadership as it advances its exploration activities and stakeholder engagement in Namibia.

The company said the appointment reflects the importance it places on maintaining a strong presence in the country as it develops its projects and works with government, communities and other stakeholders.

“We are delighted to welcome Riaan Kazondunge to our team as Country Manager – Namibia. This is a key role for Serval as maintaining regular engagement with our stakeholders in country is essential to assuring our licence to operate,” the company said.

Kazondunge joins Serval with 18 years of experience in Namibia and the wider Southern African mining sector, where he has built a career spanning mineral exploration, project development, investment strategy and cross-border partnerships.

His experience covers both greenfield exploration and advanced-stage projects across a range of commodities, including uranium, gold, copper, lead-zinc and other critical minerals, as well as dimension stone and industrial quarry operations.

Throughout his career, Kazondunge has worked with both junior exploration companies and major mining firms, providing strategic advice on mineral discovery, project development and investment opportunities.

Serval said his knowledge of Namibia’s mining industry and regulatory environment would be instrumental in strengthening the company’s relationships with key stakeholders and advancing its exploration portfolio.

The appointment comes as Namibia continues to attract growing investment across the mining sector, particularly in critical minerals, base metals and uranium, increasing the need for experienced local leadership capable of navigating regulatory processes, community engagement and project execution.

Serval said Kazondunge’s appointment underscores its commitment to maintaining a strong in-country presence as it progresses its projects and seeks to create long-term value through responsible mineral development.

Kazondunge’s role will include overseeing the company’s Namibian operations, coordinating stakeholder engagement, supporting project development and ensuring Serval maintains close collaboration with government, local communities and industry partners as exploration activities advance.
