Andrada Mining has begun its 2027 financial year with record tin production from its Uis Mine in Namibia, while advancing its Lithium Ridge and Brandberg West projects, strengthening the company’s position as one of the country’s most diversified critical-minerals developers.

The AIM-listed miner produced a record 286 tonnes of contained tin during the quarter ended 31 May 2026, representing a 20% increase from 238 tonnes in the corresponding quarter last year and a 5% improvement on the previous quarter’s 271 tonnes.

Tin concentrate production also reached a record 473 tonnes, up 16% year-on-year from 405 tonnes and 4% higher than the preceding quarter.

Higher plant throughput, stable feed grades and continued optimisation of the Uis processing plant drove the improved performance.

During the quarter, the mine processed 270,069 tonnes of ore, compared with 254,745 tonnes a year earlier, while the processing rate increased from 142 tonnes per hour to 154 tonnes per hour.

Plant recovery remained at 73%, while plant availability improved to 90%, allowing the operation to sustain higher production levels.

With London Metal Exchange tin prices trading between US$41,600 and US$57,000 per tonne, Andrada said the combination of higher production and elevated prices is expected to support stronger operating cash flows during the remainder of the financial year.

The company also moved closer to expanding production at Uis after its subsidiary, Uis Tin Mining Company, secured conditional approval for N$98 million in long-term funding from Bank Windhoek and the Development Bank of Namibia.

The facilities, structured over 10 years with capital repayment holidays, will finance construction of the ore-sorting circuit following the successful US$11 million equity raise completed earlier this year.

According to Andrada, the ore-sorting project will increase tin concentrate production while reducing processing costs by rejecting waste material before milling, improving overall plant efficiency and supporting future production growth at Uis.

Away from the operating mine, exploration continued to deliver encouraging results at the Lithium Ridge project.

The company completed an expanded 16,500-metre drilling campaign comprising 143 drill holes, extending the programme to define better the size and continuity of the mineralised pegmatite system.

Results from the first 34 drill holes have returned lithium grades of up to 3.46% lithium oxide (Li₂O) from near surface, together with significant tin and tantalum mineralisation.

Andrada said the enlarged drilling programme has strengthened confidence in the project’s scale and continuity, with laboratory analysis of the remaining drill holes expected to continue into the third quarter of FY2027 under its earn-in agreement with Chilean lithium producer Sociedad Química y Minera de Chile (SQM).

The company’s third growth project, Brandberg West, also recorded a significant technical breakthrough following the first phase of ore-sorting test work.

Initial X-ray transmission (XRT) sorting tests demonstrated the ability to reject more than 90% of waste material before processing while increasing ore grades by up to seven times for tin, six times for tungsten and four times for copper.

Tin and tungsten recoveries exceeded 80% in several test scenarios.

According to Andrada, the results point to a potential low-capital development pathway that reduces transportation and milling requirements while enabling the use of historical waste and discarded material as feedstock.

The programme is being undertaken in partnership with ACAM LP, with drilling and metallurgical studies continuing across the project.

The favourable technical results coincide with record tungsten prices, providing additional momentum for evaluating Brandberg West as a future development opportunity alongside the company’s producing tin operation and advancing lithium business.

Chief executive Anthony Viljoen described the quarter as one of the strongest in the company’s history, saying Andrada now has three distinct value drivers—a cash-generating tin mine at Uis, a rapidly advancing lithium discovery at Lithium Ridge and an emerging tungsten project at Brandberg West.

To support the next phase of growth, the company has strengthened its commercial team by appointing a UK-based commercial development specialist and VSA Capital as joint corporate broker.

Together with strategic backing from SQM, ACAM, the European Investment Bank, Bank Windhoek and the Development Bank of Namibia, Andrada said its current growth pipeline is now substantially funded.

With record tin production, expansion financing nearing completion, an extensive lithium drilling campaign concluded and encouraging metallurgical results from Brandberg West, Andrada enters the remainder of FY2027 with multiple development catalysts across three of Namibia’s most prospective critical minerals projects.
