Connected Minerals has commenced its maiden reverse-circulation reconnaissance drilling programme at Namibia’s Etango North-East and Swakopmund Uranium Projects.
The Etango North-East Project under EPL 6933 is located in the western part of Namibia and covers 30 km2. The Swakopmund Project, under EPL 9162, which covers 125 km2 and is near Orano’s Trekkopje and Klein Trekkopje deposits.
Connected Minerals appointed Namibian drilling contractor Hammerstein Drilling in March 2025 to undertake drilling programmes comprising 36 reverse-circulation holes for ~3,050m, with ~2,600m at Etango North-East and ~450m at Swakopmund.
The drilling will initially focus on the Etango North-East Project, where high-priority targets have been identified following high-grade results from a rock-chip sampling programme completed in December 2024.
Following further detailed work in the field, Connected Minerals recently expanded its previously proposed drilling programme at Etango North-East.
The drilling will then shift to the Swakopmund Project, focusing on targets identified by Connected Minerals following a recent horizontal-loop electromagnetic (HLEM) survey.
Based in Swakopmund, Hammerstein Drilling is a highly experienced contractor that has led reverse circulation drilling programmes for mining exploration companies in Namibia, Angola, and internationally.
Connected Minerals has secured all the permits required to commence the drilling programme.
Connected Minerals managing director and CEO Warrick Clent says the maiden drilling programme is a major milestone for the company and comes just four months after it relisted on the ASX.
Clent says the initial exploration work at Etango North-East and Swakopmund has been highly encouraging, and now that drilling is underway, we are set to establish a much stronger understanding of the uranium potential for both projects.
“Our progress to date has been pleasing, and we look forward to further advancing exploration to deliver shareholder value,” Clent says.
There is also the Rossing South Project, which is under application and covers 69 km2.
