Askari Metals terminates managing director Gino D”Anna’s employment

Askari Metals has terminated the employment of managing director Gino D’Anna.
The company owns the Uis Lithium Project under EPLs 7345 and 8535, over 308.12 km2 within the Erongo Region.
The project lies less than 5km from the township of Uis and less than 2.5km from Andrada Mining’s operating Uis Mine, which has a JORC (2012) Mineral Resource of 81Mt @ 0.73% Li2O.
D’Anna will serve out a three-week notice period.
Following the notice period, D’Anna will remain as a non-executive director of the company.
Askari Metals says a strong operational team supports the Board and is confident that the termination will have minimal disruption to ongoing business.
Until a managing or executive director is replaced, the Board will continue collectively performing the company’s strategic duties.
The project lies less than 5km from the township of Uis and less than 2.5km from Andrada Mining Ltd’s (LSE: ATM) operating Uis Mine, which has a JORC (2012) Mineral Resource of 81Mt @ 0.73% Li2O.
On December 2, 2024, Askari Metals Limited changed D’Anna’s financial interests.
An update showed that D’Anna acquired over 3 million fully paid ordinary shares, while 5.35 million performance rights were cancelled.
D’Anna’s expertise extends globally, with significant experience in Canadian Government and First Nations relations in the mining sector.
His work across various jurisdictions, including Australia, Botswana, Namibia, and Canada, highlights his adaptability and understanding of diverse mining landscapes.
As a founding shareholder and director of Askari Metals Limited, D’Anna’s leadership has been pivotal in steering the company towards exploiting the rising demand for lithium and Rare Earth Elements, essential for clean energy technologies. In addition, the company has advised the appointment of Stuart Usher as company secretary and CFO.
Usher is a CPA and Chartered Company Secretary with 30 years of extensive experience in publicly listed companies’ management and corporate affairs.
He holds an MBA from the University of Western Australia and has extensive experience across many industries, focusing on Corporate & Financial Management, Strategy & Planning, Mergers & Acquisitions, and Investor Relations & Corporate Governance.
Leonard Math has stepped down from his role as company secretary and CFO and will remain a non-executive director.
