Aldoro Resources has started a pre-drill trench sampling of seven trenches at the Kameelburg Project.
The pre-drill trench sampling comes after Aldoro Resources completed a ground magnetic survey.
The Kameelburg Project is a joint venture with a local businessman, Aldoro, who holds 85% equity in the partnership.
Three EPLs covering 1,017 km2 comprise the project area and contain the Kameelburg (AKA Ondurakorume) carbonatite system.
The total survey area is about 2.6 square km and covers the entire carbonatite intrusive.
The company has commenced a trenching program to evaluate the geochemical anomalies and provide more reliable information for our forthcoming drilling program.
The trenching program will encompass seven trenches and be completed within the next fortnight, with rare earth elements and niobium assay data to follow shortly after.
The Kameelburg Project is 60 km southwest of Otjiwarongo along well-maintained bitumen roads.
AMCOR explored the Kameelburg from 1967 to 1970, and Kinloch Resources Pty Ltd undertook two sampling phases in 2012–2013.
Laboratory analytical data found up to 1.81% of the rare earth elements in the stones and 1.75% of the rare earth elements in the soils.
These sampling results showed that parts of carbonatite, particularly the before site and possibly some micaceous sites, are well endowed.
The soil sampling recovered total rare earth oxide values up to 2.66%, averaging 1.3% over the carbonatite and P2O5 values up to 9.7%.
The rock chip samples recovered values up to 5.56% total rare earth oxides, averaging 1.0% over the carbonatite and up to 17.25% P2O5.
Abnormal values of Strontianite, up to 13.2%, and Niobium Pentoxide, up to 4.75%, were also recorded, although somewhat sporadic.
The grid samples were contoured, and the average soil samples in the area were >1% total rare earth oxide (0.838 km2) contour, which was 1.44%.
Rock chip results recovered values up to 5.56% total rare earth oxides, with the average from within the >1% total rare earth oxide (0.838 km2) contour being 1.27% total rare earth oxide.
