Namibia will host the International Association of Drilling Contractors Conference and Exhibition at the Hilton Hotel in Windhoek on February 20–21, 2024.

The International Association of Drilling Contractors is a forum for all oil & gas drilling industry stakeholders to connect, share knowledge, tackle common problems, and develop solutions to critical issues.

It was founded in 1940 by a group of visionaries who believed that drilling contractors needed a collective voice to advocate for their interests within our industry.

The International Association of Drilling Contractors operates on six continents, and its members are global leaders in the drilling industry.

The Association champions the drilling industry through training programs, guidelines, publications, committees, conferences, and advocacy for the global drilling industry through regional chapters that provide critical forums for members to exchange ideas and expertise.

Membership includes local drilling contractors, producers, and service companies.

The regional chapters allow students to connect to global activities, drilling industry professionals, and the industry, as well as coordinate student chapters’ rig visits, factory tours, and conference attendance.

The Petroleum Commissioner, Maggy Shino, will deliver the opening speech, and TotalEnergies E&P Namibia B.V. managing director Laurent Roché will give the keynote address.

The featured speaker is CanAfrica President and Senior Vice President, Drilling and Completions, ReconAfrica, and Nick Steinsberger.

Other speakers are Westwood Energy research director Teresa Wilkie, who will discuss the global market outlook; RystadEnergy senior offshore rig analyst & product manager Eivind Drabløs (market outlook Africa).

Namcor’s executive Upstream Development and Production, Mtundeni Ndafyaalako, will be the day two opening speaker, with Sonadrill chief executive officer Renato Moure delivering the keynote address.

TotalEnergies Rigs Strategy Coordinator Celine Martin will discuss deep water well construction, and Odfjell Drilling Chief Operating Officer Jakob Korsgaard will deliver a presentation on benefit to society.
