Cazaly Resources wants to start a drilling programme at its Kaoko Lithium Project either late in the first quarter or early in the second quarter of 2024.

The Perth-based company is developing the Abenab North Rare Earth Elements and Base Metals Project and the Kaoko Critical Minerals Project under which Kaoko Lithium Project falls.

Cazaly owns a 95% interest in the Kaoko Project, under EPL6667, initially granted in February 2018 and renewed until February 2023.

The Kaoko Project, only 50km from Opuwo town, is about 100km long and covers 1410 km2.

In a statement on Monday, Cazaly says it wants to test a 12km-long lithium in soil anomaly using reverse circulation.

According to the statement, Cazaly targets completing about 3,000m of drilling following approvals of vegetation clearing and drilling permits.

“This initial drilling phase will test the regolith and fresh rock beneath the highest lithium in soil results on a 200m x 100m grid,” Cazaly says.

Cazaly’s managing director, Tara French, said the drill program is designed to test the lithium anomaly in fresh rock to develop a better understanding of the distribution of lithium within the stratigraphic units at Ohevenga and the nature of this potentially unique sediment-hosted lithium anomaly.
