Aldoro Resources Ltd (ASX: ARN) will advance its 9,000+ metre Phase II diamond drilling program at the Kameelburg Rare Earth and Niobium Project in Namibia in the coming weeks, to deliver an updated mineral resource estimate by the fourth quarter of 2025.
The program marks a significant step in the company’s strategy to define the scale and grade of what could become one of the world’s most significant rare earth and niobium deposits.
The new campaign will target high-grade niobium zones within the Kameelburg carbonatite complex, following earlier drill results that returned intercepts of up to 4.14% Nb₂O₅.
Aldoro has mobilised the newly commissioned Nock 800 diamond drill rig, capable of drilling to depths of around 750 metres, allowing the company to test deeper mineralised zones along the western margin of the intrusion.
Up to 14 diamond drill holes are planned in this phase.
Chairperson Quinn Li said the Phase II drilling campaign is designed to deliver two primary outcomes — the definition of a large, high-grade niobium deposit and a significant expansion of the rare earth element (REE) resource model, moving it from an inferred to a predominantly indicated category.
He said the new high-capacity diamond rig will enable the company to test the deeper high-grade niobium zones identified by its geological model.
Aldoro expects the results to position Kameelburg among the top-tier global REE-Nb projects.
Expanding into heavy rare earth exploration at Omuronga
In parallel with Kameelburg’s deep drilling campaign, Aldoro has launched a new phase of exploration at the Omuronga Heavy Rare Earth Project (EPL 4933), located about 10 kilometres away.
A ground magnetic survey covering 3.42 km² has already been completed. It revealed a 1.4 km circular magnetic anomaly similar in scale to Kameelburg’s but with a lower magnetic intensity.
This is interpreted as evidence of deep weathering and potential ionic-style heavy rare earth enrichment to depths of 100–150 metres.
Laboratory assays from 40 soil samples have confirmed elevated REE values, with heavy REEs contributing 18% and Nd+Pr representing 26% of total REEs.
Based on these results, Aldoro plans an eight-hole diamond drilling program at Omuronga to test both the near-surface ionic-style HREE mineralisation and the primary LREE zones within the fresh carbonatite.
The company’s geological data suggests that Omuronga may host a buried carbonatite body within the broader Damara Belt, a region already proven fertile for rare earth and niobium mineralisation.
Advancing Namibia’s critical minerals frontier
With both Kameelburg and Omuronga advancing simultaneously, Aldoro is strengthening its footprint in Namibia’s emerging critical minerals sector.
The company’s integrated exploration model aims to confirm the scale of the carbonatite systems while refining resource estimates that could feed into future feasibility and development studies.
Upcoming milestones include the completion of soil sampling at Omuronga, integration of magnetic and geochemical data for target refinement, and continued deep drilling at Kameelburg, leading to the Q4 2025 resource update.
