Koryx Copper Inc. has released the results from the latest three drill holes, which confirm that the Haib copper deposit can deliver high grades over substantial widths within the known historical resource.
The Haib copper deposit, under license 3140, is near Noordover in the extreme south of Namibia, close to the border with South Africa.
CEO Pierre Léveillé says they will shift focus to updating the Haib copper project after releasing the 2023–2024 drill program results.
Since the resumption of drilling in October 2023, Koryx has drilled 26 of the planned holes for this campaign, totalling 4,861 meters.
All the holes have been logged, sampled, and submitted to ALS for assaying.
ALS has received results for 18 holes, comprising 1,825 samples.
Currently, the assay results for eight drill holes from ALS are outstanding.
Léveillé says they keep generating very positive results that demonstrate that the deposit’s average grade could be higher than the previous mineral resource estimate.
“We expect the results of the remaining eight drill holes from the 2023–2024 drill program within four weeks, after which the focus will shift to updating the mineral resource estimation,” he says.
The original exploration program, which started in February 2021, was to drill up to 10,000 meters.
This drilling campaign focuses on further delineating and growing the higher-grade zone of the deposit uncovered in 2019 and advancing the project to the feasibility stage.
The first 5,000 meters were drilled in 2021; however, in June 2021, the ministry refused to renew the license, suspending the program.
This legal situation was resolved, and the ministry renewed the license on July 7, 2023.
Koryx, then known as Deep South, embarked on completing drilling the remaining 5,000 meters of the proposed exploration program and proceeded with a new resource estimation.
