Langer Heinrich Uranium has started construction of an 880-square-metre boundary wall at Usakos Junior Secondary School to improve safety and security for about 580 learners and teachers.
The school is the only junior secondary school in Usakos and serves learners from the town and surrounding communities.
Langer Heinrich said the project reflects its commitment to education and the Usakos community.
“We are delighted to commence a project to construct an 880-square-metre boundary wall at Usakos Junior Secondary School. This project reflects our belief in the power and importance of education. It will provide a safer, more secure environment for learners and teachers,” the company said.
The uranium miner described the support as an investment in education, the Usakos community and the future of Namibian children.
The company did not disclose the cost of the project or when construction of the boundary wall is expected to be completed.
