Andrada Mining increased tin concentrate production by 14% year on year to 429 tonnes during the quarter ended 30 November 2025, while contained tin output rose 10% to 255 tonnes, underpinned by higher plant throughput and stable recoveries at its Uis Mine in Namibia.
Ore processed during the quarter totalled 259,396 tonnes, an 8% increase compared with the same period last year. Average processing plant throughput improved to 146 tonnes per hour, up 12% year on year, while tin recovery remained steady at 73%, exceeding the company’s internal target for a third consecutive quarter.
Tin shipments increased to 15 for the quarter, 25% higher than the previous quarter, reflecting Andrada’s push to capitalise on stronger tin prices, which have risen by about 40% year to date in 2025 and moved above US$40,000 per tonne in December.
The improved performance was achieved despite planned maintenance and downtime associated with the company’s continuous improvement programme. Andrada said these interruptions were necessary to support long-term plant reliability and throughput stability.
Progress was also reported on the commissioning of the new jig processing plant at Uis. Ramp-up is under way, with early operational challenges related to fines build-up and shaking table configuration being addressed in collaboration with equipment suppliers.
Until third-party ore becomes available, the jig plant is processing material from Uis to maintain operational continuity and optimise performance.
Andrada reiterated its intention to source high-grade third-party ore, including from the nearby Goantagab area. Discussions around implementing an existing supply agreement are continuing, and the company said external ore sources remain a key part of its strategy to supplement production and support regional development.
Beyond tin, the company continued to advance its lithium strategy.
Metallurgical testwork on petalite at Uis is ongoing as part of broader lithium production studies, with results expected in the second half of 2026.
At the Lithium Ridge project, drilling activity accelerated during the quarter through the lithium joint venture with SQM, with a third drill rig deployed to speed up exploration. Initial assay results are expected in the first half of 2026.
Exploration work also continued at Brandberg West, where Andrada is targeting copper and tungsten mineralisation. Previous drilling has returned copper grades of up to 2% and tungsten mineralisation of a similar magnitude, supporting the company’s strategy to diversify its production base beyond tin.
Chief executive Anthony Viljoen said the quarter reflected continued operational progress at Uis, with improved throughput, consistent recoveries and higher production supported by favourable market conditions.
He said the existing operation provides a foundation for future growth through commissioning, optimisation and exploration across Andrada’s wider Namibian portfolio.
Looking ahead, Andrada said its focus will be on completing jig plant commissioning, further improving plant performance at Uis, advancing ore-sorting and lithium studies, and continuing exploration across its critical minerals portfolio.
